While other teams machined and welded metal frames, the guys broke out the rubber glue and began assembling the PVC pipe. They did the whole thing in one night, got high on the pungent fumes, and dubbed their new creation Stinky.
I noticed that these kids were not only willing to figure out as much on their own as possible, but they also kept false pride out of the way when they needed honest, in-depth answers from people who had useful insight.
